Wayne C. Hoover M.D.


Dr. Hoover is a native of Pennsylvania having been raised in Ebensburg. He received his undergraduate study at Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA and then went to medical school at Hershey. Dr. Hoover then moved to Massachusetts where he did an internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Massachusetts. He subsequently returned to Hershey Medical Center for a Gastroenterology fellowship and settled into Chambersburg in July of 1992 joining Dr. Enders and Dr. Dobish at that time.


Since arriving in Chambersburg, Dr. Hoover has become quite involved with the medical community serving on a variety of boards and committees for The Chambersburg Hospital and for Summit Health. Dr. Hoover has recently completed 9 years of service on The Chambersburg Hospital board. He has also been quite active in the community and in his church.


Along with his wife, Carol, Dr. Hoover has made Chambersburg his home and has dedicated himself to the community and to his practice. Dr. Hoover has special interests in hepatobiliary and pancreatic disease as well as inflammatory bowel disease.


Outside of medicine, Dr. Hoover enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, fishing and is an avid Penn State football fan.
